Gordon is one of the Gottingen boys we received this fall from the biomedical research lab here in our area. He and the other 8 sweeties he came with were part of a one year pharmaceutical trial. The vet on the trial had previously worked with one of our fosters and reached out to her about placing a couple of them into a private family home. Sarah contacted us and explained the situation, then coordinated the release of all 9 pigs to the KCPRN foster program. These boys grew up in the lab, had never been outdoors, had not been altered or vaccinated, and had not got to experience being a pig. BUT they were handled daily since birth and were extremely social and silly. Gordon is one of two remaining boys at the farm looking for his forever home. He is more outgoing than sweet Everett, and always comes to greet anyone he sees. He is a social butterfly and is looking for a forever home with a family who understands that the trial may have lasting medical consequences. AS the details of the trial are unable to be released, there is a big question mark about what the future holds for these cuties – but they deserve a chance at a happy home, with a family who understands these uncertainties.
